But yet, there is one small difficulty. You need to keep your new puppy indoors or that large dog next door will certainly rip him apart! Or perhaps you reside in a community, maybe a town, residence, or condominium where there is no access to a yard or fenced-in area?

Of course, your cute pup can not use the litter box with the kitty!

Now you’re sweating at the thought of pee spots on your beautiful Persian carpet or a pile of poop on your high priced exotic hardwood flooring! You can calm down, seeing that there’s an alternative!

Housetraining a new puppy dog can be done inside by paper training!

Below are a few basic guidelines for the right way to paper train puppy dog:

1. Position a couple of layers of paper in a location that’s away from the puppy’s feeding and watering dishes. After your pup eats and drinks, take him to the newspapers. Likewise take your puppy to the newspapers, to urinate and poop, the first thing in the morning and the last thing at night. He must also be taken to the papers after he chews, plays hard, and comes out of his crate.

2. Change the papers after each time that the pup uses them. Beneath the clean papers, put a lightly soiled one. Your pup will be prompted to go to the bathroom by the scent left on the soiled paper.

3. Clean underneath the newspapers with an odor neutralizer. Should you neglect to do this, your puppy will smell his scent on the floor and start sniffing around the edge of the newspaper. That’s a no, no! You ought to keep your puppy ON the newspaper and using an odor neutralizer will keep him focused on using the potty on the newspaper!

4. Clap your hands to startle your pup if he makes a mistake. Please! Simply surprise him. Never frighten the poor thing half to death! This will distract your pup and stop him from urinating. Pick him up and take him to the newspaper where you want him to go. Lavishly fuss over your puppy when he finishes going to the potty!

5. Do not go BALISTIC if your pup urinates or defecates off of the papers. Never punish him by spanking, yelling, or rubbing his nose in the mess! Keep in mind, your pup is just a baby. He made a blunder; he did not commit the crime of the century!

6. Do not use a product that contains ammonia to clean up after your pup. Pee contains ammonia and that lovely well known odor will invite your puppy to urinate again on that exact same location! If you’re concerned about permanent odor or staining, putting plastic or waxed paper beneath the papers will help shield your carpet or floors.

7. You need to be consistent. Put your puppy on a schedule. In case you alter the regimen or let your pup do something differently one day and not the next, he will get confused!

8. Keep an eye on your pup. Never, ever leave an untrained pup alone in the house! Doing so is just asking for trouble!

9. Carry your pup to different parts of your condominium or house and say “papers!” Then, carry him back to the papers. This will train your pup to go to the newspapers when he has the desire to go to the potty!

Paper training a brand-new puppy calls for lots of persistence, just a little common sense, and meticulous attention to clean up. With a little time and perseverance, your puppy will in the end figure out what you want him to do. In time, going to the bathroom on the papers will become second nature to him.

That’s basically it for how you can paper train puppy potty! Oh and one more point, have a great deal of patience.
