Anyone that has observed a Golden Retriever knows that they are extraordinary animals and are very loving and loyal to their owners . These dogs are excellent with kids and with other dogs and will work hard to please their owners.

Many  Golden Retriever puppies are available for rescue from the animal shelters and the Golden Retriever rescue groups in your area.

While there are some valid reasons to adopt a pup, there are also some concerns that are necessary to take into account . First, like any other puppy , they will require a substancial amount of time, effort and patience to train them and to establish new rules, boundaries and limitations . You’ll need to make the time to work with them or you could find that the dog is more than you are able to handle . Many puppy owners that cannot give them the attention that is needed find themselves giving the dogs up for adoption, which might be an awesome stroke of luck for you, if you’re looking to adopt a dog. .

Puppies are like babies, they have small bladders and hold off going to the potty for too long . Actually, it is often said that a puppy can hold their bladder for about an hour for each month that they are alive. For example, if they are six months old they should be able to hold their bladder for six hours at a time. If you want to avoid cleaning up messes then you should take them out frequently to empty their bladder . You will need to do this at dark as well.

You should plan on being around the puppy round the clock for the first few days to a week if you want to train them properly . You will need to teach them how to behave and what they are and are not allowed to do in your home. If you do not want them up on your furniture then you will have to be there to keep them from climbing up. If you do not want them to sleep in the bed with you or one of the other family members then you will have to spend some time making sure they do not climb up on the beds.

New puppies are also known for chewing . it is critical that you take the time to puppy proof your home to prevent accidents.  . A puppy will chew on virtually anything so if you value it and want to keep it from being chewed up, pay close attention to what they are doing at all times and keep any valuable items put up and out of reach to the puppy.

There are many great dogs that are looking for a good home and if you have the time and are willing to work at it, you’ll find that adopting a golden retriever puppy is one of the most satisfiying things you’ll ever do. . Given the time, care and attention, your Golden Retreiver puppy will bring you years of joy, laughter, loyalty and companionship
