Good Breeders of Beagle Puppies
06 Oct 2011
Many people looking for a new pet are attracted by the cute Beagles, but require special care due to the specific temperament of their breed. The dogs of the Beagle breed are mostly looked for by hunters, so the breeders train their puppies for this purpose. They are energetic and curious dogs.
They are also a breed of pack dogs, so either you should buy at least two of them, in order to have each other’s company when you are not at home, or you have a large family where there is a lot of activity all the time.
Basic Information
There are many breeders that offer beagle puppies for sale and there are tips that are valuable to choosing just the right one. If you want a good breeder, start searching at AKC, where reputable ones are registered. From the American Kennel Club website you can locate reputable breeders in your area, so you can pay them a visit, to see the mother and father dogs and their puppies, and to interiew the breeder before buying the beagle for sale. You should already know what questions to ask the breeder and to visit more than one of them, so that the best possible dog can be bought for your family.
You need to look for specific features when selecting your puppy.
Many breeders sell online before the puppies are born, by posting on their sites pictures of previous litters of puppies and of the parents of the litter to be. This is especially true of the breeders that are more popular and have champion bloodlines. Other breeders sell also online, but puppies from the present litter which pictures are posted on the site and the potential buyer chooses the puppy he wants.
When you see the puppies at the breeder’s facility, look for specific characteristics of the dogs of this breed. Look for a strong head with the specific dome shape. On their foreheads should be no droopy looking wrinkles and their ears should be floppy and with their bottoms rounded. The nose should be a black color and the eyes should be a dark brown color. They have fairly long tails that arch on their backs and their jaws should bite straight. These are important characteristics especially if the owner is planning on breeding the puppy in the future or on showing the dog. But in the case of the dogs that are used for hunting or as pets, the puppy’s temperament is more important than the physical aspect.
When visiting the breeder, look at the puppies when they interact with each other. Look for the active puppies and avoid the aggressive ones. Individuals also do not want to have a puppy that is hanging back from its brothers and sisters since that puppy is likely to be timid in nature and not as trainable. Timidity can also show a hidden physical or health problem. The appropriate puppy should be alert and playful, curious about what happens around it.
Give up at the timid beagle puppies for sale. Usual puppies are playful and alert with people.
Your puppy will feel safe and secure in its new home if you show it love and good care.
The puppy should be placed in a routine so that it knows when to expect food and water, and when it is time to go outside to go to the bathroom or for some exercise.
Some tips will help you choosing among different breeders offering beagle puppies for sale. Beagles are active with their siblings but not overly aggressive.
You don’t need a timid beagle.
